4.30.2021

Hey paper peeps! This is the last sneaky peeky of my brand new happy little stamps before making their big debut tomorrow eeekkk!! I am so super excited! And nervous.. hope you like them!

I have been working on a mini album for my mom, it's made out of a vintage book that I picked up in an antique store! She's a quilter, so when I saw an old beautiful book called "The Patchwork Quilt," you know it accidentally fell into my cart heh heh...

It's about all of our hobbies, scrapbook adventures, expos, crafting parties, hoarding of pretty things, trips to bakeries, all of those good things! Who would've thought that our hobbies would turn into lifestyles, which would in turn result in crazy adventures?!

Can't wait to show more of this book to you! It's getting quite chunky :)

I love putting paint chips in my junky artsy fartsy journals, they are so perfect for journaling and layering! It's a happy bonus when you find one with cute paint names on it!

I added a messy & quick layer of gesso on the base book page and large shipping tag before creating the page, I just love how gesso softens everything and makes it so subtle and pretty!

Do you have special plans for International Scrapbook Day?! I love this day! So much fun going on all over social media, it's so exciting!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Come back tomorrow at 7p.m. to subscribe to some really cute stamps!

xoxo Sarah

sleepy hollow birthday party

9.25.2020

Guess what?! Today is my moms birthday yayyyyy! Love her so much! She came to visit a few weeks ago, which means we can't be together today, I'm so sad. But I wanted to make sure she had a special birthday cake and prezzies, so I designed a little gathering for her and we celebrated when she was here!

This was her atomic cake, it was light pink with chocolate chip polka dots on the sides and brown writing on the top. Wow was this delish! We got it at Fleckenstein's Bakery. I was so happy with it, they did an amazing job! Notice I stuck my hand in the front of it right before taking pictures (eyeroll)...

I was trying to think of a special theme, and I knew I wanted it to be "fally" because she lives where it's hot hot allll the time and doesn't get to experience our mid western seasons anymore. A memory of when I was little popped in my head and I was like YESSSSSSS!!!!! We always watched the Disney version of Sleepy Hollow  and Ichabod Crane when it came on tv, and we loved it! So that's what I went with :) So fun! Not Halloweenie, but still spooky goodness..

I found this cute printable on Etsy, so I printed it out on cute vintage texty patterned paper and stuck it on a long black wooden rod. Then I topped it off with black fringe crepe paper! I stuck it in a vintage silver tea pot with these gorgeous harvest colored roses from Jewel Osco!

I absolutely loved this part of the decor, all these cute things nestled on an old silver tray. So fancy and all this vintage tarnished silver gave it such an old world feel.

Washi tape is the perfect way to add whimsy to your taper candles, especially when you're on a super budget! Couldn't find my black electrical tape so polka dots it is lol!

This ornate black frame is from Hobby Lobby, and I just cut some word snippets out of a vintage Sleepy Hollow book and glued them onto patterned paper. Gotta work the story in there somewhere!

This darling cut file is from the Silhouette Design store, I cut it out of simple black cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo. I glued it onto a striped straw, but it kinda looks like it belongs in some deranged spooky merry go round now lol! I stuck it in an old trophy which I thought was perfect because, hello Kentucky Derby buhahahaha!

I saw this cute Ichabod pumpkin idea on Pinterest, so I had to make my own!

I created the word on my Cameo and then just cut it out of simple black cardstock and glued it right onto this cute white pumpkin from Michaels!

Topped it off with a black Lincoln top hat from Party City! So cuuute! I couldn't find the cute colonial weird piratey hat so this was the next best thing.. the pretty black candleabra and little black lantern is from Hobby Lobby.

Little black crows added the cutest little spooky feel!

Of course I had to put some birdies in my old birdcage! My cat was super not excited about them...

Another cute printable from Etsy, taped it around a wooden rod at the top and hung it with cute gingham ribbon! Had it printed at Office Depot it's 11x17 I believe..gotta work the story in!  Skulls look so cute with masquerade masks on! Adds a fun spooky touch!

When you're planning a party, don't forget about the background! Even if it's simple little things! It can make or break your decor especially in pictures! Just simple little touches make all the difference! Sweat the small stuff, do the details! This black frame is from the dollar store, and the Sleepy Hollow image is just something I printed off of the internet! Book paper is cut out from, yep you guessed it, a vintage Sleepy Hollow book!

I was so excited I got to use this cute spooky black chandelier from Party City again! I used it before when I had a Wicked Witch Party for my mom, and it got used twice how fun is that?! Totally worth the 12.99 or whatever lol.

We had such a wonderful evening, I served chili with angel hair pasta, garlic knots, and apple cider. Pretty much the best Autumn dinner ever!

And of course we put on Disney's Sleepy Hollow and Ichabod Crane movie, it made the whole night! Those classics make you feel like a kid again I tellya. Man those were the best days! So many good memories! I'm so happy we did something that brought them back!

Welp thanks for coming to the party! Salem also said thanks for hanging out :)

Happy Birthday Mom love you! How am I going to top this next year?! Yikes!!

xoxo Sarah

happy anniversary mom and dad!

5.27.2020

Heyyy paper peeps! Hope you all are doing well in these crazy times! I so miss walking through antique stores and flea markets, treasure hunting is the best! One day when I was strolling through an antique store I found this adorable vintage Hallmark photo album that says Showers of Happiness on the front. It was only $2.00 booyahhh! So of course being the hoarder that I am I grabbed it, and I'm so glad I did! It became my parents wedding album! They've been married 46 years wowza!

All I did to jazz up the cover was add a chipboard word and striped marquee love washi tape by Heidi Swapp!

I used a mixture of products, it was so fun!

Look at how cute this cake is!

I am so thankful for photographs! Looking at them is like going back in time and being with these loved ones all over again.

What is your favorite treasure that you've ever scored at an antique store?

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy scrappy day!

3 french hens holiday market 2018

11.13.2018

**DISCLAIMER~~ lOng pOst AleRt~~**

Hey darlings! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner?!?! I can't! I am so excited though, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the holiday season! Do you have anything special that you do to kick off the holiday season? One of my favorite things to do is go to Christmas markets and shops, it's so fun & festive! There's a really fantastic one by me that I love to go to, and I actually decided to have a booth in it this year... whhhattttt?!?! Yep! I just wanted to do something different and make some special memories, and guess what? It turned out to be SO AWESOME, I am so thankful. I was a nervous wreck but it all worked out :) I learned that no matter how skeered you are, don't be afraid to try new things! Sometimes you just have to throw yourself out there, because you just never know what could happen ;)
This is me, hi lol ;)

I had a lemonade stand type of booth, and it was the perfect thing to have in our little corner ;)

It was decorated kind of eclectic with a little bit of handmade glam and vintage details thrown in?
I love the cute junque style banner at the top, so fun! I added some mini gold cupcake wrappers to add some shine. The glittery fa la la banner is by Pottery Barn, the white scallops are red dotted cupcake wrappers, and I cut the large scallops out of some Crate Paper Christmas patterned papers. I mean you can't decorate anything Christmasy without some red & black buffalo check right?! **OBBBSSSESSSSEDDDDDDD**

There's alot of people out there that have a hard time around the holidays, so I wanted to make a booth that was just glowing with happiness & cheer! That's how I came up with the "Create Joy.." We had lights strung everywhere! I don't think we could've fit anymore haha!  I made the JOY marquee sign out of paper mache letters and globe lights, and you could see that baby all the way from the front of the building it was AWESOME!! You walked down the aisle, turned the corner and BAM!! This bright glowing little corner of happiness in a sea of darkness lol it was so funny! They definitely weren't going to miss us lol! That thing was lit up like a... yep you guessed it. A Christmas tree!

This cute wooden "create" word was sent to me by my dear friend Heidi Swapp! It was the perfect thing for my overhead sign, all I had to do was glitter the front and it was ready!

We were selling these darling little photo clip jars, and the customers would get their picture taken right there on the spot with an Instax camera so they could put it on their jar. It was so fun to see their faces light up when we told them that! They loved it! Now they'll have a little memory of the fun evening forever!

Since we were making Christmas cards I thought it would be fun to have this little postman up on the counter, I just love old pics!

I was trying to think of a cute way to display some little trees, and of course in the basket of a vintage bicycle was the perfect thing!

The perfect finishing touches were some greenery, white lights, and this darling Heidi Swapp Merry banner. It comes with battery operated lights with these adorable plastic stars that you put right onto the little bulbs, ohmygosh it was the cahutest thing ever! Everyone loved the bike so much and kept asking if I was selling it, but I just couldn't part with it..

You could definitely tell it was a papercrafters booth! We were making cards and selling handmade gift tags, they were hanging all over the place! They added the cutest details to the booth!

I love this darling coffee cup die! It's like 6 inches tall it's adorbs and makes the cutest card! Peel and stick foam sheets make the best lids!

I had so many sweet friends come to see me! God has blessed me with so many amazing people in my life, I am so grateful for them!

This is my cutie pie son..

Let me tell you about what a beast this kid is! He is always there to lend a hand and always willing to go above and beyond what he is asked, without complaining or all of that other teenage stuff lol! And we all know what a fan men are of craft shows bahahaha! For realski though I'm so thankful he got to be there! Couldn't have done it without him, he is a hard. worker. Thank you so much for being there for me BeeeBeeee. (I'm so sad that my other little darling couldn't be here ;( we all missed him so!)

I may or may not be a fan of sarcasm...

I am so addicted to little bottle brush trees! Soo cuuutteeeee...

Obvi you need a jar of candy if you're going to last all weekend lol! ;)

Ok so we shopped a little too but whatever..

This poor girl delivered us pizzas on this bike.. Just kidding it was FAH-REEEZZIINGGGGGG but that would've been awesome lol!  We actually started calling them frozen pizzas lol!

This is my sweet mama that flew all the way across the country to be with us for the market. She is a hard core crafty party animal!!

Thank you to all of my sweet friends & family that came to visit our little happy place and for all of your hard work, you made the whole thing so wonderful & fun & festive! Couldn't have done it without you ;) Some of you drove far holy cow! You'll be getting something from me in the mail soon wink wink..  Thank you to the 3 French Hens for making a place for me in this awesome heated building at this crazy awesome market, (there were seriously SO MANY amazing vendors ohmygosh...) Did I walk away from this thing a millionaire? No. Did I walk away from this thing with tons of memories and a brain absolutely swimming, brimming, and overflowing with ideas? YES!! Was it totally worth it? Yes. Yes. Yes.

Did you start decorating yet? I know I know, it's still November... ;) but get busy!!

Thanks for stoppin by, have a lovely day!
