good times

5.06.2020

Hey paper peeps! Just poppin in to share a fun layout I did using a very large "K" cutfile from Just Nick Studio! It's from the Spring Outline Alphabet, I just love the alphabet there are so many things you can do with it!

I cut the K out of white cardstock, then watercolored it with 2 different pinks to add some fun dimension and color!

This bright and happy paper line is by The Stamp Market, it's called Miss Modern.. I usually am a pastelly kinda gal so I had fun using bright colors!

Those flowers are so pretty all layered up!

Thanks for stoppin in, have a happy scrappy day!!

garden art journal

4.16.2020

Hey paper peeps! I started creating an artsy fartsy art journal dedicated just for gardening! I love gardens so much, they are the most peaceful & beautiful places! To have a special little keepsake to keep all kinds of flowery goodness in makes me all sorts of happy!

I used an old vintage hard cover book, and just tore a bunch of pages out to make room for new messy ones! ;)

I used a mix of vintage garden paper and new ephemera pieces to create a little collage area on the cover, then topped it off with a chippy painted book plate and some chipboard pieces!

I hung this beautiful charm off the binding with yarn, they were in my shop but are all sold out now! I may be putting more up soon!

I love mixing different sized letters, it adds a cute handmade eclectic feel!

Here's a couple pages I put in, I used a beautiful bloom cutfile by Just Nick Studio!
The floral hummingbird paper is by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, isn't it so pretty?!

Do you have a garden art journal? I can't wait to get this thing "dirty!"
Thanks so much for stopping by!

fine little day

3.25.2019

Hey paper peeps! Have you jumped on the travelers notebook crazy train? Ohhh they are the cahutest little things when you make a mini album out of them! By the time you get just a few spreads done inside, they are these super chunky little books of happiness! I have just a general one in the works, filled with random memories that make me smile, and this is my most recent entry;

These books are also really handy when you have some pretty pieces lying around your workspace that you need to use up, or if you have a random picture that you want to use but don't want to create a large layout for it or whatevs ;) perfect for pretty paper scraps too!

So Shimmerz Paints has these fabulous new kits available now on their website, and this one had an exclusive cut file to go along with it! It was a large floral heart but I cut it apart of course (because I can't do anything normal lol).. what can I say some things are just begging to be fussy cut...

I placed the flower on a simple watercolor background that I created with Shimmerz Creameez Piggy Pink paint! I was worried that the paper would crinkle too much, but I slapped down a clear gesso layer first and let it dry, but the paper took it like a champ!

So definitely give these little notebooks a try, they are so fun I know you'll love them!

Have a beautiful day!

you make me happy

3.24.2019

Hey there! Are you having a scrappy Sunday?! Just wanted to pop in to share this simple little layout with you ;) What is your favorite size layout to make? This is an 8.5x11 and I forgot how much fun they are! Omgosh this is an old pic but it makes me so happy! That little happy face...

This is one of the charms from the new Maggie Holmes line "Sunny Days," I tied it around the bottom of the layout with bakers twine, just a simple little detail on the bottom. ;)

I found this cut file just laying on my desk in a pile of pretty things, so I gave it a watercolor bath in Shimmerz Paints "Luck of the Irish," It's so pretty! Love this color!

This happy sticker is an old Dear Lizzy one, I have a whole drawer of her stuff that I need to stop hoarding lol! But it is kinda fun going through your stash, it's like shopping for it all over again heh heh!

I hope you find some time today to make something pretty!  Have a lovely day!

new sketch challenge

3.23.2019

Hey paper peeps! Are you in the Hip Kit Club group on Facebook? They launched a new sketch challenge yesterday, and this is what it looks like!

Cute right? This is my version of it;

I know it doesn't look exactly like it, but if you look closely, I just flipped the sketch and smushed it all together! It was so fun I love doing these!

Look at this gorgeous cut file in the March kits?!?! I absolutely love it and plan on using it a bunch! Look how cute my mom looks in the lens lol! Siigghhh. Why are beach pics always so beautiful..makes me want to go grrrr!

I adore fancy little details... even simple little texture paste circles that were stenciled on can add so much to a page!

Such a great saying:

You should definitely go play along, you could win a $10.00 gift card for their store!

Can't wait to see what you come up with! Have a beautiful day!

sweetie pies mini album

1.27.2019

Hey there paper peeps! Ohhh it's almost Valentine's Day, which makes me so happy because I love it! I mean how can you not love a holiday about love?! It's all pink & hearts & sweets! I also love making cute papercrafting projects for Valentine's, mainly because I get to have a good excuse for mixing pinks & hearts with my boys haha! Here's a little mini album I just made for my first Shimmerz Paints Social Media Team project!

I used lots of Crate Paper goodies and yummy new Shimmerz products!

Lots of lovely layers...

I did a lot of watercoloring onto cut files and stenciling with texture paste!

The Shimmerz products I used were;

Inklingz She Packs A Punch

Dazzlerz Tutti Frutti

Paste-eez Baby Boy Blue

If you haven't tried their products out, you definitely should give them a whirl, they are so much fun to play with!

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!

color crushing

8.10.2018

Hey there TGIF woot woot! Do you go through stages where you just love a certain color and get obsessed?! Lately I've been crushing hard core on periwinkle. It's just so pretty!
We have these darling little wildflowers on the side of the highways here in the midwest, they're called Chicory and I just love them! I wonder how many people drive past them without realizing how striking their color really is?

Anyhoo, I think these blooms are to blame for my current color crush ;)
You'll probably be seeing it alot more in my papercrafting, at least for the summer time..
Isn't this Crate Paper "welcome to Blue Springs" cut out so cute? I kinda wish that boat was mine!

Yes yes i know. More leaves. It's an obsession I can't help it.. #sorrynotsorry

I love this Bible verse! It reminds me of that song by Brandon Heath called "Wait & See." So encouraging!

What color are you crushing on lately?
Have a wonderful weekend dearest ;)

always come home..

8.06.2018

Hey there paper peeps, Happy Monday! Where did the weekend go?! Just thought I'd pop on here and post a fun little layout I did about my son. It's that dreaded time of summer when you can feel the "back to school" feeling creeping in... I never understood the parents that were so excited and glad their kids were going back to school. I always dreaded it! Makes me sad, knowing that another school year is upon us, babies are another year older, growing so fast, slowly slipping away, becoming less and less dependent on their mama ;( I don't like it. I miss them already! But. I am also so grateful and excited for their journey's! It's amazing watching your children grow and develop their own personalities, dreams, sense of humor, all of it, I love it!
Recently I came home and saw my son just chillin on the front patio, reading his Tim Tebow book. My heart felt immediately so happy and content. I so love having him home with me ;) Pretty soon he'll be going back to college and working on that dream of his, "gettin that grind" he says. I'm so excited for him but at the same time I will dearly miss that handsome little face around here.

I absolutely love using my Silhouette Cameo and cutting files from white cardstock! Then I just get creative and add some paints or inks or sprays or whatever I feel like doing to add color! It's so fun! Do you ever do that to yours or do you always cut them from patterned paper? I am so obsessed with leaves lately ohmygosh... and letter stamps! I've been stamping so much lately it makes me happy ;)

This little tag by Maggie Holmes is so darling! Who knew black could be so pretty?!

What are your thoughts about back to school? Happy or sad? Yay or nay?

Thanks for stopping in, have a beautiful day dear friends!
